General Questions About Invisalign
Invisalign is the world's first transparent braces for dental alignment. A high-tech and discreet solution that makes orthodontics more attractive than ever.
It is important to clean your braces daily with a toothbrush, cold water and regular hand soap. Avoid using toothpaste, as it can scratch the rails.
We use several types of aligners, including Spark, Invisalign, ClearCorrect as well as our own solutions. The choice depends on your dental position and treatment needs.
Dental alignment with Invisalign® acts as a series of clear aligners that gradually straighten the teeth. You start with your aligner and then switch to a new aligner about once a week. The new aligner is slightly adjusted compared to the old one, and therefore your teeth will move as you change the aligner.
Boon an one hour of free preliminary examination where our orthodontist assesses whether clear aligners can meet your specific needs. If this is not possible, our orthodontist can prescribe alternative solutions, possibly combining clear aligner treatment with other treatments.
Attachments are small, tooth-colored dots that temporarily attach to your teeth to help the aligners move teeth more efficiently.
Please contact the clinic for guidance. We also always recommend that you save your previous aligners, even if you have finished wearing them.
Course of treatment
Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of your case, but typically it lasts between 6 and 24 months.
No, you can't. We use invisible clear aligners, so you can smile confidently throughout the treatment course.
Some may experience a mild lisp at the beginning of treatment. This typically goes away very quickly.
For us, it is important to follow your progress, and therefore we recommend check-ups every 6-8 weeks.
The teeth are mildly shaved to create the necessary space between the teeth and at the same time ensure the most aesthetic result possible. At CLEARLI, however, the dentist will make your treatment plan so that we minimize shaving to keep your teeth intact as much as possible.
The use of the clear aligners
No, you're not supposed to. Your aligners are not permanently on your teeth. They can therefore be easily removed when you are going to eat. So there are no restrictions when it comes to food and drinks, unlike other dental regulation methods such as traditional braces, which can limit you in this area, as some food can risk getting stuck in the braces.
It is recommended to take off the aligners when drinking coffee, as it can discolor the aligners.
For the fastest and most effective results, be aware that you need to use the aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day.
It is recommended to remove the aligners during eating and drinking (except water) to avoid discoloration and damage to the rails.
At CLEARLI, we recommend making minor adjustments per brace, as our orthodontists consider it to give the best result. It is important that you always wear a fresh aligner. So you would typically need to change the aligner about 1 time per week.
Yes - by doing a little “workout” with your teeth. This happens by chewing on the handle of a toothbrush daily. It moves the teeth faster and the treatment becomes more effective.
Cleaning and maintenance of your aligners
It is important to clean your braces daily with a toothbrush, cold water and regular hand soap. Avoid using toothpaste, as it can scratch the rails.
When you are not wearing your aligners, they should always be stored in the given aligner case. This protects them from bacteria, dust and damage. Avoid wrapping them in paper or napkins, as they can easily be thrown away by mistake. If you lose your aligner, you should contact us to ensure that treatment continues without interruption.
Yes, smoking can discolour the aligners and is therefore not recommended during treatment.
To keep your aligners transparent and free from discoloration, you should:
- Always remove the aligners when drinking colored drinks such as coffee, tea, wine or soda.
- Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth before putting the aligners back on, especially after meals.
- Clean the aligners daily with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water — avoid hot water, as it can deform the aligners.
- Avoid smoking, as nicotine can cause discoloration of the aligners.
If your aligners develop a foul odor, it could be due to a buildup of bacteria or food debris. Here are some solutions:
- Daily cleaning: Brush the shins thoroughly with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water.
- Deep Cleansing: Use for example Corega Tabs to remove odors and bacteria.
- Good oral hygiene: Brush your teeth and floss before putting the aligners back on. Food debris between the teeth can be transferred to the aligners and cause foul odor.
- Avoid storage in closed, damp places: make sure the aligners are clean and dry when stored in the case.
It is not recommended to use ordinary toothpaste for cleaning your aligners. Many toothpastes contain abrasives, which can scratch the surface of the aligners and make them more visible. Instead, you should use:
- Lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush.
- Corega Tabs or mild, soap-free cleansers that do not contain harsh chemicals.
- Avoid mouthwash with alcohol or bleach, as it can damage the aligners.
Costs and Financing
Invisalign costs between DKK 30.000 and DKK 50.000 at Clearli. This includes all aligners, check-ups and retention to maintain your great result. Our prices and treatment courses are completely transparent, and you always get a fixed price before you start, so you know what to expect.
The actual price for invisalign depends on what your individual needs are.
If you need to correct minor imperfections of a cosmetic nature, the Invisalign course is shorter. This will typically require fewer aligners and check-ups, which is why the price will also be lower than if you have to go through a major course to correct moderate or major misalignments in the teeth.
If you want a specific price for your Invisalign treatment, you can book a free and non-binding preliminary examination.
At Clearli, we ensure that you get the right course of treatment with an invisible hanger — at the right price.
